Our Health Care Philosophy

As you will see, the human bodies are marvelous creations in both form and function. The body's internal systems are a highly complex organization of integrated life-giving systems that are designed to perform flawlessly throughout much of our lifetime.

The highly defined codes (DNA) that comprise, create, control and regulate this design make our technological human achievements appear like clever toys in the home of the innate intelligence whose mastery is still beyond our comprehension. The application of these highly complex codes within all living things upon this earth only further confirm that it is the signature of this higher authority and architect of the universe.

Over the last century we have gained a substantial amount of knowledge regarding how our bodies function and the processes necessary to maintain its optimum health.

Professional chiropractic care is increasingly becoming an important factor in this process, together with nutritional discoveries, toxicity impacts and other advancements in modern medicine.

Chiropractors are highly educated, degreed and licensed like other medical doctors. Their emphasis however is in the neurological and structural functions of your body. When combined with the knowledge and expertise of other health care professionals, it will provide you with the greatest possibility to achieve and maintain optimum health.

The human spine is the primary communication conduit between the brain and numerous body organs, glands and processes. Extended interference in this communication process can result in commonly diagnosed diseases and dysfunctions. This interference can also impact the body's innate design to heal itself or minimize the effectiveness of nutritional requirements and their proper utilization within the body.

Essentially chiropractors, minimize this interference in proper neurological communication by insuring that all possible structural areas on this important communication link are optimized through maintaining the proper alignment of spinal vertebra. When vertebrae are allowed to continue in a misalignment, it directly impacts nerve communications and can cause significant damage to other body processes. Therefore it is critically important, as a fundamental and foundational principle of good health, that this important neurological system be maintained to its optimum level of performance.

All organs, glands and other interrelated functions of the body will be better able to perform to their maximum intended efficiency if your spinal health is properly maintained. Your nutritional intake will also be more productive in meeting the body's functional requirements and recuperative powers.

Causes of Subluxation

The Vertebral Subluxation Complex is caused by any stress that adversely impacts your body.

  • An automobile or motorcycle accident or incident including occurrences involving other forms of transportation.
  • Long sedentary positions while riding in an automobile or other form of transportation.
  • An industrial or occupational accident.
  • Occupational repetitive motion stress.
  • Strain injuries caused by repetitive sports.
  • A previous injury or fall regardless of the time past (even as a toddler).
  • An abrupt jolt, sudden or startling movements.
  • Poor body posture.
  • Encountering unusual working or sports positions.
  • Stresses experienced due to the improper lifting of heavy objects.
  • Over exertion or working when fatigued.
  • Stresses of pregnancy.
  • A difficult birth or delivery.
  • Dental work.
  • Drug use or medications.
  • Surgery.
  • Emotional shock when fatigued.
  • Being a couch potato or flabby muscular tone.

Simply due to the fact that nearly everyone experiences one or more of these stresses means everyone can have some level of the Vertebral Subluxation Complex and therefore should get a periodic spinal checkup.

Unhealthy Warning Signs

Here are some simple things you can look for to determine if you spine is healthy.

  • Do the heels of your shoes wear unevenly? This can be due to uneven leg length or stress along the length of the spine.
  • Do you find it difficult to breathe properly? Breath, your general health, spinal health and energy are interrelated.
  • Do you have to crack your neck, back or other joints frequently? This can be caused by a portion of your spine that is locked or jammed.
  • Does your jaw click? This can be caused by neck or hip subluxation.
  • Does your foot flare out when walking? Do you feet both point forward, or does one foot appear to flare outward or inward? Foot flair may be a sign of a problem in the lower spine or hips. It can also be related to meningeal (Sheath that cover the nerves and spinal cord) stress in the upper neck or base of the brain.
  • Can you twist your head or hips to either side easily and equally? If not this reduced range of motion is a further indicator of spinal misalignments.
  • Do you feel stiffness in your back and neck? This stiffness can be a sign of subluxation damage.
  • What is your posture like? You may evaluate your posture by standing on two bathroom scales. When placing your right and left foot respectively on the scales is the weight distribution about the same over each foot. If not, that's a good indication that your spine, hips or head are misaligned.
  • Do you have headaches, back aches, shooting pains or tender spots in muscles and joints? These are common signs of vertebrae subluxation.
  • Does one leg appear to be shorter than the other? With your shoes on and lying down, have someone stand behind you, look down at your feet, and gently push you heels toward your head. Compare where the heels meet the shoes. If uneven, note the difference since this is another common sign of subluxation.
  • Do you experience constant and stressful feeling and tension in muscles and joints? If so muscles can be directly affected by subluxation.
  • Do you feel fatigued? An unbalanced spine drains your energy and impacts your vitality.
  • Are you able to concentrate properly? Subluxation can directly impact brain function and health.
  • Do you have a low resistance to disease? Subluxations affect your neuroendocrine system which plays an essential role in your ability to fight infection and resist disease.

Are you frequently ill and in poor general health? Subluxation can impact your overall health and fitness.
